The Montana Council BSA Powder Horn 2009 will be held at Camp Paxson near Seeley Lake, MT from 8 – 14 August 2009 and is a comprehensive, “hands-on” course that is physically demanding, goes from early morning until late in the evening, and includes a back pack overnight. Total cost for the training program is $300, not including travel to and from Seeley Lake, MT. All participants must have a current Class III physical before attending the course and must pass a medical recheck upon arrival. This course is the Western Region Pilot Course for including Venturing youth leaders 16 - <21 years of age who meet the selection standards. This course will have 36 adult participants and 12 youth participants. All youth participants will experience the same curriculum alongside the adult participants. There will be separate selected segments devoted to youth issues and opportunities. The course is designed for Venturing Crew Advisors and Associate Advisors, Sea Scout Skippers and Mates, Troop Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters, Varsity Coaches, other Unit Leaders, and District, Council, Area, and Regional Leaders and Committee members interested in the Ranger and high adventure programs with goals to move their organization to the next level and who meet the selection standards.
